Project at Baddawi Camp, North Lebanon

Viva Palestina Malaysia started a project at Baddawi Camp, North Lebanon.

Baddawi camp was established in 1955 by UNRWA for Palestinian refugees and is extremely congested with 25,000 inhabitants and new arrivals numbering 12,000 Syrians coming here as well.

Al Haneen Centre works with 250 special needs children suffering from cerebral palsy, blindness , paraplegia, mental retardation, etc at the camp.

Under this project we provided medicines , diapers , water mattresses, walkers and wheelchairs , as well as covered the cost of physiotherapy sessions. Alhamdulillah a total of 83 disabled children benefited from this project , implemented by Dr Majdi and Alshifaa Medical Services

Qurban 2016

Distribution of Qurban Meat to Palestinian needy families (DQMP)

Implemented By: Dar Al Quran Al Karim Wa Sunnah (DQWS)

DQWS implemented DQMP on 3'rd day of Eid al-Adha. 2 calves and 2 sheep were slaughtered locally and their meat was distributed to 650 needy families (1 KG of pure meet for each beneficiary) in all governorates of Gaza Strip, DQMP concentrated on poor and needy families who can't afford to buy fresh meat as a result of the siege and spreading unemployment in Gaza Strip.

Targeted Area:
All of Gaza Strip governorates were covered according to percentage of population.

Targeted Group:
1. Poor families who lack income sources.
2. Orphans and widows.
3. Patients and disabled persons.
4. People who live in randomized and marginalized areas.
5. Workers involved in the slaughtering.

VPM continues to do qurban in Palestine. Photos below show Hani Thuraya our rep selecting the cows for qurban, the qurban and some of the recipients of the qurban meat. 

Medical projects by providing medical equipment and medicines for their charitable hospitals

Viva Palestine Malaysia (VPM) and Arab Medical Union (AMU) office in Gaza City signed 4 agreements with 4 medical NGOs in Gaza Strip to start new medical projects by providing medical equipment and medicines for their charitable hospitals.

It aims to develop the health sector in Palestine in cooperation with medical NGOs by enabling them to provide healthcare for impoverished Palestinian people in Gaza Strip. It is funded by VPM and supervised by AMU, and will be managed by:
1. Assalamah Charitable Society.
2. Yafa Hospital.
3. Al Karamah Hospital.
4. Public Aid Hospitals group.

Providing partial scholarship

Project No.(43-A/2015).

Providing partial scholarships for university students at Gaza Strip, to enable them continuing their high education in first semester (2015/2016), in Cooperation with Islamic university of Gaza - IUG, and supervised by Palestine Aid Society.

This event was implemented in IUG HQ building that was attacked directly on 2014 war by Israeli army after partially rehabilitation.

Great thanks for VPM donors who contributed for this important project for Palestinian students.

Rehabilitation poor families houses

Al hamdulelah Palestinian Orphans house Society (POHS) has finished project No.(25/2015) which helped 8 of poor families by rehabilitation their homes.

This project was funded By: Viva Palestina Malaysia and Mercy Malaysia foundation, so would like to thank all people who contributed and donated to implement this important project in Gaza Strip.

Targeted Area: Middle of Gaza Strip Governorate.
Targeted Group: 8 of Palestinian poor families.
Project Description: This project aimed to restore and maintain 8 houses of poor families, Targeted beneficiaries are selected according to special criteria. Then price offers prepared and awarded. The maintenance process started after that in order to rehabilitate the houses to become habitable. The maintenance process included the restoration of kitchens and bathrooms, painting and tiling works and maintenance of doors and windows as the need for each house. The project will produce health and comfort houses which will become habitable for at least 20 years.

Social development and Family & children Society for development

Meeting with Rowad society for social development and Family & children Society for development to Prepare for implementing new phase of (Micro credit finance projects for empowering Palestinian families), in this phase Viva Palestina Malaysia will enable 8 of poor families to start their micro projects in order to develop their economic situation gradually.

New success story for poor Palestinian family

New success story for poor Palestinian family:

They were living in bad economic situations, without any source of income, their father is suffering from chronic disease, so they always need to provide special medicine for him, in addition have two sons need to pay for their university fees to continue their studying, all of this in addition to normal needs of live.

The family heard about Viva Palestina Malaysia micro loan project, and they applied for getting micro loan in Rowad society office (local partner for VPM), after they fit the project conditions, they got their loan for starting small project.

Then they have started their small project "Mini Market", and their income starts rising, and now they feel comfortable, because they can provide their father medicine, and pay some of universities fee.

Our great thank for VPM donors who change the families live in Palestine, and always support Palestinian people withstanding.

Educational Sector

After waiting for 9 months for provider company to enter the needy equipment for Lab. Viva Palestina Malaysia & Islamic University of Gaza opened new computer lab. at IT building in Gaza City.

This Lab contains of 10 work-stations (Multi processors Pcs.), these work-stations will help IT college students, computer engineering college students and Multi media department students in doing their tasks and training on using the media programs for (photos and Video processing, web designing), since students need long time if they want to do the processing in their normal laptops or PCs, but if they use the work stations PCs they will save their time, and invest it to do other tasks.

In Summer IUG will use this lab for computerize some education courses to be online for every students in form of (Video Flash courses), in addition to that this lab will enable 10 post graduated students to on work on this program.

Hashim Yeop Sani Media Summer School

Distributing new groups of loans for micro finance projects

Through project No. (01/2015) activities Viva Palestina Malaysia in cooperation with Rowad Society at Gaza Strip distributed new groups of loans for micro finance projects which run by poor and needy families in Gaza Strip in order to develop their economic situations to enable them depend on themselves on providing their life costs especially the families that consist of large of members.

Tens of Palestinian families applied for getting this chance to develop their micro projects, but after filtering all applications by depending on logical case studies and families situations, Rowad society selected 7 cases to be the beneficiaries from the project, since the amount of loan for one project not exceed USD 2500.

1. Clothes shops (USD 2500) - North of Gaza City.
2. Library for selling stationery (USD 2500) - Nusserat camp - Middle of Gaza Strip.
3. Small Shop (USD 2000) - North of Gaza City.
4. Small Shop (USD 2500) - North of Gaza City.
5. Small car for selling cleaning materials - East of Gaza City.
6. Small Shop (USD 2500) - Gaza City.
7. Bees small farm (USD2500) - Khanuness - south of Gaza Strip.

" Poor Families Box "

Viva Palestine Malaysia and Rowad Society signed an agreement for implementing project No. (39/2015) "Poor Families Box" in Gaza Strip.

Poor Families Box project aims to help Palestinian poor families in providing some of their urgent needs, since the economic situation for thousands of Palestinian families in Gaza Strip is very bad, and there no incomes sources for them, so as a result for that the poor families are prevented from paying for “Renting their homes, Buying medicine, Providing baby’s needs, Providing gas cans for cooking, Providing food or transporting costs for their students to go school and universities” , so by this project VPM in cooperation with Rowad Society will try to solve some of these problems by providing for poor families some of what they need from the poor families box which will be Implemented by Rowad Society and funded by VPM office in Malaysia.

Competition in Gaza for blind people to memorize the Quran

Sheikh Abdul Rahman Aljamal of Dar Alquraan AL Kriam had suggested we hold the first ever competition in Gaza for blind people to memorize the Quran. We had expected children and youth to participate but Alhamdulillah many blind senior citizens also came forward after hearing the announcement on the radio.

The competition was funded by private donations channeled through Viva Palestina Malaysia.
